For Trelise Cooper, in collaboration with Saatchi and Saatchi and my darling fiancee Paul Tobin:

Paul did the majority of work on Joan of Arc, I just helped a little bit with the face.

Helen of Troy and Eleanor of Aquitaine were both mine - Paul helped with the costuming and props.

Armageddon my axe!

A couple of us WCW bros took the trip up to Auckland on Labour Weekend to check out the awesomeness that was the Auckland Armageddon (sorry Welly, these guys were badass!) and signed a few books while we were there. This was the first time the book has been released to the public, and people were very surprised when we ambushed them from behind the folding table, holding them at pencil-point and screeching "Your money or your life!". Most people obliged, enthusiastically.

Present were Paul "The Teeth" Tobin, Clarice "Hacksaw" Hackett, Dangerous Dylan Coburn, Nasty Nick Hamilton and Greg Broadmore. The lovely Kate Jorgenson wrestled us back by our shackles to join the chain gang on SH1 when we were finished.

If we didn't see you there, but you'd like to get a signed copy, more of us will be at the Unity Bookshop, Willis Str on Saturday 30th Oct at 5pm or The Weta Cave, cnr Manuka and Camperdown rd, Miramar on the 14th of November.

Beauty and the beast.

EDIT: Acutally, looking at this now, I think the crop is a little awkward. I was shifting it to fit the book proportions, but... I could have been cleverer about it. I think I'll try taking it in a little and playing up the shadows on the back of Belle's leg (yup, Belle was the original name of the beauty - it's not just a disney thing). Tralala.

I've been warned that if I don't update, I'll be in trouble. So here's me updating, so I'm not in trouble, yes?

I don't care what I read in the reviews, I loved Avatar. I loved it, because it was full of lovely big blue kitty-men in loincl- I mean, the effects were fantastic and the character design was beautiful. Though, I won't be painting myself blue and joining any "Na'vi" groups soon... I'd trip over the tail.

I thought it would be cool to try and re-imagine Rangi and Papa so I doodled this one on holiday on my little laptop XD. I think the faces could have been pushed a bit more, and I should have really researched some more clothing designs, but hey, it was fun.

The movie we had to re-imagine was Jason and the Argonauts... So I sorta figured they'd be a soccer team with the monsters on one side and the goodie-goods on the other. I chose to draw the collossus...

I think he came out ok, but I had originally wanted to do something bigger and chunkier - think along the lines of Shadow of the Collossus - rather than comedic. The front on stance works for a joke, but I shoulda pushed more... damnit.

These kids are just afterthoughts... toning down the monsters into human caricatures... though Tommy did it better D:
